Sometimes feelings just get on top of us. We don’t know what’s going on inside our heads, feeling like we are not in control, and even not sure what’s real and what’s not.
Maybe it’s a one off. Or maybe you’ve been feeling like this for a while. Whatever, it’s important to know that you are not alone. And it’s okay not to feel okay. You’re not the only person who’s not feeling too good.
One in four of us will experience a problem with our mental well-being and up to 30% of young people have suicidal or dark thoughts.
Don’t keep thoughts and feelings to yourself where they can brood.
There are some great websites with information that can help explain what you may be feeling and that give practical advice on what to do:
Mind HK – ensuring everyone in Hong Kong living with mental health has the recognition and support they need
Young Minds – a UK charity where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges
Childline – to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through
Open Up – 24 hour realtime youth emotional support chatline
